FAQ's for Advance Parole:

What date should I put for the intended travel date If I want to travel as soon as possible?

You should try to put an actual date that is in the future and is realistic for travel and is event drive. For example, you may need to go visit your grandmother in you home country because she is sick; in this scenario it may be best to put a date that is 3 weeks from your date of filing to allow your petition to potentially get approved. It also allows you to create a better case for expediting if you can tie your urgency back to a date that is event driven.

Does it matter what my purpose of travel is?

Yes and no. If you are seeking an expedite and think your situation is urgent then yes, what you put as purpose matters. For example, your family member is sick then it may qualify for grounds to expedite but going on vacation does not.
